Meet The Team
Shawna Narayan
Executive Director
Shawna is in her third year at the University of British Columbia pursuing a Bachelor of Science. She has over five years of volunteer experience and is an executive member of UBC HOPE. Currently, she works as a Research Assistant with Digital Emergency Medicine. She loves drinking tea, binge-watching netflix shows, and buying summer dresses.
Marissa Brooks
Graphics and Design Director
Marissa currently studies at Douglas College in the Child and Youth Care Field. However, when she's not in school she enjoys reading, photography and hiking. She volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of SouthCoast BC. Something many people don't know about her is that she has 4 years of training in Tae Kwon Do.
Joshua Zivny
Finance & Administration Director
Josh studied at British Columbia Institute of Technology and Kwantlen Polytechnic University for Civil Engineering. He enjoys staying active through weight training and playing sports. He volunteers with the Canadian Cancer Foundation and he is a member of the Adopt-A-Street program. He is also a continuous blood donor.
Elias Panah
Corporate Relations Director
Kianna currently attends the University of British Columbia. She has volunteered with several organizations but her favorite volunteer experience was with the Katimavik program where she volunteered in Eastern Canada for 6 months. She enjoys scuba diving and is also a Divemaster.
Anmol Sooch
Events Director
Anmol is a third year Biology Major at the University of British Columbia. She loves dancing, playing basketball, and reading in her spare time. She has volunteered with various organizations in the past and she currently works as a Pharmacy Assistant. She is thrilled to helping the people of tomorrow!
Ayman Azhar
Engagement Director
Ayman is a third year Faculty of Science student at the University of British Columbia, passionate about the global provision of education. Ayman is involved in a number of initiatives to support student growth and learning, such as her role in LET’S International Charitable Association. Ayman is also a bit of an adrenaline junkie who skydives from heights of 14,000 ft!
